National Stress Awareness Month

April is National Stress Awareness Month.  A little bit of stress is not necessarily a bad thing for us, in that it provides energy and keeps us aware of everything going on in our lives.  However, it is important to keep it in check.  When left to its own devices stress can lead to or exasperate health problems.

Find ways to reduce stress in your life.  These are just some of the things you can do:

- Try patting your dog

- Gardening

- Knitting

- Take a bath with some lavender oil

- Try yoga or meditation exercises

- Engage your brain in an activity you enjoy

- Keep a healthy diet and exercise regularly

- Get together with some good friends and share some Laughter.

- Read a good book

- Eat dark chocolate!  Yes that's right, dark chocolate has been linked with decreased levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
